1. Working Principle of Trumsense XKC-Y25-V (  DC 5 to 24 V ) Contactless Liquid / Water Sensor or Liquid Detector or Fluid Monitor :

Intelligent non-contact liquid level sensor produced by Shenzhen Trumsense Technology Co.,Ltd. uses the inductive capacitance of water to detect whether there is liquid. When there is no liquid approaching the sensor, due to the presence of distributed capacitance on the sensor, there is a certain static capacitance on the ground of the sensor. When the liquid level slowly rises and approaches the sensor, the parasitic capacitance of the liquid will be coupled to the static capacitance, so that the final capacitance value of the sensor becomes larger, the changed capacitance signal is then input to the control IC for signal conversion, the changed capacitance is converted into a certain amount of change in electrical signal, and then a certain algorithm is used to detect and judge the degree of this change, when this change exceeds a certain threshold value. a. Viscosity of measured liquid medium

Dynamic viscosity < 10mPaS normal measurement. 10mPaS < dynamic viscosity < 30mPaS may affect the detection. Dynamic viscosity > 30mPaS due to a large number of liquid attached to the container wall, can not be measured.

b.With the increase of temperature viscosity decreases, most of the high viscosity of the liquid is more affected by temperature, so pay attention to the liquid temperature effect when measuring liquid viscosity.

c. Pay attention to keep the sensor clean, as far as possible to achieve anti-corrosion and avoid other objects violent collision, hit.

d. Outdoor installation should avoid direct sunlight and rain direct flow to the sensor body, and away from the high heat source and pay attention to ventilation, if the ambient temperature exceeds the rated temperature, the corresponding cooling protection measures should be taken.

e. When the ambient temperature is lower than the normal operating temperature range of the sensor, the instrument protection box or other protective rain cap device can be used for antifreeze protection, and pay attention to keep the sensor dry. Sensors should be regularly maintained. ( The detection time interval is determined by the user according to the specific situation ).

Preparation of installation: clearance

 Requirements for the clearance between the contact surface of the sensor(or probe) and the outer wall of the containerThe contact surface of the sensor (or probe) and the outer wall of the container should be tightly pasted with AB or othersolid-resistant glue.If there are special requirements, the gap should be less than 0.5mm, preferably no gap, otherwise itmay affect the measurement accuracy

The following description is about the installation method of XKC-Y25 series products, including requirements and installation methods of the tested container.

According to their materials: the tested containers are divided into 3 categories

1>insulating material container

Containers made of non-metallic materials with flat surface, uniform thickness, compact materials, and good insulationproperties, such as glass, plastic, non-absorbent ceramics, acrylic, rubber and other aterials or their composite materials installation method:

a. If the container wall where the measuring probe is installed is of multi-layer material, the layers should be in close contact with each other   without bubbles or gas interlayers. The inner and outer surfaces of the container wall should be flat.

b. Wall thickness: 0-20mm

c. Tank type: spherical tank, horizontal tank, vertical tank, etc.

d. The installation method of this kind of material container is shown in Figure 1;The probe can be pasted and fixed with glue or fixed on the outer wall of the container with a non-metal bracket.

 Try to avoid metal and other parts where the probe is installed, so as not to affect the detection.

 The location where the probe is installed should avoid the liquid inlet and the flow path of the liquid.

※ There should be no silt or other debris inside the container facing the low-level probe, so as not to affect the detection;

2>Metal conductive material container

Containers made of metal or other conductive materials; such as stainless steel, copper, aluminum alloy or materials with electroplated metal layers on the surface.Because capacitive sensors are sensitive to all conductive objects, this typeof container cannot be directly attached to the outer wall of the container, therefore, for containers of this type of material,holes need to be made on the side of the container. The installation method is as follows:

a. Prepare two rubber plugs and the necessary tools for opening threaded holes;

b. Two threaded holes are opened in the high position and the low position respectively, and the hole diameter matches the size of the rubber plug;

c. Put a nubber plug on the threaded hole and tighten it to check for water leakage, and add glue to seal if necessary,

d. Paste the sensor on the rubber plug with glue and fix it with the bracket. After the glue has solidified, remove the bracket.

The installation of the metal container is shown in Figure 2.

3>Non-metallic materials that absorb water

Containers made of ceramics, tiles, bricks, tiles, cement, wood boards and other materials are insulators or weakly conductive. This kind of container may not be detected when it is close to the liquid level sensor when it is dry and without water, but when the container is filled with water, the container wall will absorb water, causing the container wall to become a conductor, even if the container is empty when the sensor is close to the container wall,the signal will alsobe detected.

If the sensor is to be used on a container of this type of material the installation method should be in accordance with the installation method of a metal container. For the installation method, refer to above described

instruction " 2>Metal conductive material container " and Figure 2;

or use an external pipe to install:

External pipes are divided into extemal non-metallic pipes and external metal pipes

a.The installation method of external non-metallic pipes is shown in Figure 3-1 and Figure 3-2.

b.The instalation method ofexternal metal pipes is shown in Figure 4-1 and Figure 4-2.

Pay attention to keeping the liquid level gauge clean, try to prevent corrosion and avoid violent collisions and strikes by other objects.When installing outdoors, avoid direct sunlight on the main body of the level gauge, stay away from heat sources and pay attention to ventilation. If the ambient temperature exceeds the rated temperature, corresponding cooling and protection measures should be taken.

When the ambient temperature is too low, the instrument protection box or other protective devices can be used for antifreeze protection, and care should be taken to keep the liquid level meter dry.

The sensor should be regularly maintained and inspected.(The detection time interval is determined by the unit used according to the specific circumstances).
