Description
The intelligent non-contact liquid level sensor produced by trumsense precision technology uses advanced signal processing technology and high-speed signal processing chip to break through the influence of the wall thickness of the container and realize the true non-contact detection of the liquid level in the closed container. . The liquid level sensor (probe) is installed above and below the outer wall of the container to be tested (the high and low positions of the liquid level). The non-metallic container does not need to be opened, and the installation is simple and does not affect the production. The liquid level of various toxic substances, strong acids, strong alkalis and various liquids in the high-pressure closed container can be detected. The liquid level sensor has no special requirements on the material of the liquid medium and the container, and can be widely used.

Working Principle
The intelligent non-contact liquid level sensor uses the sensing capacitance of water to detect the presence of liquid. When there is no liquid approaching the sensor, the sensor has a certain static capacitance due to the distributed capacitance. When the liquid level slowly rises close to the inductor, the parasitic capacitance of the liquid will be coupled to the static capacitor, causing the final capacitance of the inductor to become larger. The changed capacitance signal is then input to the control IC for signal conversion, which will change. The capacitance is converted into the amount of change of an electrical signal, and then a certain algorithm detects and judges the degree of the change. When the amount of change exceeds a certain threshold, the liquid level is considered to reach the sensing point.

Signal output:
XKC-Y28-NO / NC products are specially developed for non-metallic pipes (pipe outer diameter D≥11MM) or liquid level detection of flat containers.
This series of liquid level sensors have two types of signal output interfaces:
relay normally open output and relay normally closed output;
Normally open output interface-Model:       XKC-Y28-NO (5V), (12V), (24V)
Normally closed output interface-Model:    XKC-Y28-NC (5V), (12V), (24V)

Wiring:
A: Relay Normal Open Working Principle
1.When the black wire is connected to VCC:
    a.When the liquid is sensed, the relay is closed, the relay NO point is turned on, and the VCC voltage is output;
    b.When the liquid is not sensed, the relay is closed, and the NO point of the relay opens;
2.When the black wire is connected to GND:
    a.When the liquid is sensed, the relay is closed, the relay NO point is turned on, and the GND voltage is output;
    b.When the liquid is not sensed, the relay is closed, and the NO point of the relay opens;






B: Relay Normal Close Working Principle
1.When the black wire is connected to VCC:
    a.When the liquid is sensed, the relay is closed, and the relay NC point is opened;
    b. When no liquid is sensed, the relay is turned off, the relay NC point is turned on, and the VCC voltage is output;
2.When the black wire is connected to GND:
    a.When the liquid is sensed, the relay is closed, and the relay NC point 0 is opened;
    b.When no liquid is sensed, the relay is turned off, the relay NC point is turned on, and the GND voltage is output;



Liquid medium requirements:
The measured liquid medium viscosity is normal when the dynamic viscosity is less than 10mPaS. 10mPaS When the dynamic viscosity is> 30mPaS, it can not be measured because a large amount of liquid adheres to the container wall.
Note: As the temperature increases, the viscosity decreases, and most high viscosity liquids are more affected by temperature. Therefore, pay attention to the effect of liquid temperature when measuring liquids with viscosity.


Typical Installtion for pipe:
Detector can use super glue to paste into the pipe tightly,you can also use nylon ribbon tofasten it tightly,
when you install the probe, you should avoid metal parts.
The applicable pipe should be smooth surface,uniform thickness, tight material,goodinsulation non-metal pipe, like glass pipe,plastic tube, PC/PVC pipe,nonabsorbent ceramic pipe,Acrylic tube, rubber pipe or rubber composites pipe:

Product Maintenance
Please keep the sensor clean, anti-corrosion and avoid collide and hit by other objects.
 
Outdoor installation should avoid the direct sunlight, away from heat and pay attention to ventilation, if the ambient temperature exceeds the rated temperature, should take the appropriate cooling protection measures.
 
When the ambient temperature is too low, use the instrument protection box or other protective equipment for antifreeze protection, and pay attention to keep the level gauge dry.
 
The sensor should be checked regularly. (The detection interval is determined by the use unit according to the specific situation).
How to Adjust Sensitivity?
Connect the power and signal cables, and adjust the water level of the container or pipe between the upper and lower edges of the black sensor film. Use a small screwdriver to rotate the potentiometer in the upper-left corner of the sensor. The anti-clockwise rotation sensitivity increases, and the clockwise rotation sensitivity decreases. As show below:


Notice:
If the sensitivity is too low, turn the potentiometer counterclockwise until the red indicator lights on.
If the sensitivity is too high, turn the potentiometer clockwise until the red indicator off.




Trouble shooting:
Fault condition Cause Analysis Solution
